HYGIENE & STAIN REMOVAL
Good oral hygiene and gum health are the foundation for any great smile. It is essential for anyone wishing to improve the appearance and health of their teeth.
At High Street Dental, we provide a specialist hygiene-therapist service which we believe best helps you achieve this. We provide basic 3-6 monthly scale and polishes but also offer an enhanced service which allows us to deliver the extra care that some people may require.
AESTHETIC CROWNS
A crown (or cap) is an artificial, tooth-shaped material that covers your own tooth. Tooth coloured crowns offer a great combination of aesthetics and function and can be placed to correct misshapen, misaligned or discoloured teeth.
They are especially effective at restoring teeth which have been heavily filled or fractured as they provide added protection and strength to potentially vulnerable teeth. When placed properly, they can be difficult to distinguish from all natural teeth.
TOOTH WHITENING
Tooth whitening is a highly effective and simple procedure which can reverse the effects of staining due to lifestyle factors and the natural darkening process which can occur as teeth age. We employ a home use system, which is the optimal way to deliver tooth whitening, using the world renowned Phillips Zoom system.
Any business (e.g. beauty salons) which offer this without the oversight of registered dental professionals are doing so illegally and we would strongly caution against using these type of outlets.
VENEERS
Veneers are ultra-thin pieces of material (usually tooth coloured) which are affixed to the front surfaces of teeth using a special adhesive. They are commonly used to correct misalignments, mask discoloured teeth or to generally improve the aesthetics of your smile.
WHITE FILLINGS
White fillings offer an excellent alternative to the standard grey mercury fillings provided under the NHS. They can significantly improve appearance and be placed to blend in with your natural teeth.
INLAYS / ONLAYS
These are restorations which are made in a similar fashion to crowns and are offered in the same materials.
To describe them simply, they are like a combination of a filling and a crown in that they are made in a laboratory like a crown but can be used to fill large cavities in teeth like a filling.
An onlay is essentially just an inlay which covers a larger area of your tooth.
